Sónia Malhas was founded in 1983 in Fafe, in the Braga district of northern Portugal, by António Augusto Leite. It has remained a family business ever since, carrying over four decades of accumulated knowledge in sleepwear and loungewear production. What started as a small operation developing nightwear for women and children has grown into a specialist factory covering all age groups, women, men, babies, and children.
Our specialisation is sleepwear and loungewear: pyjamas, nightshirts, robes, knitwear jackets, and ponchos. Every piece is built around two principles — the best available materials and the manufacturing precision that comes from decades in the same craft. A Sónia Malhas piece is designed to last, with a simple and timeless construction that holds up wash after wash.
We handle every stage of production ourselves. From the initial brief we develop patterns, select materials, cut, sew, and finish each piece in-house, including the ironing process, label placement, and quality control at each step. Packaging and shipping logistics are also managed by our team, so the piece arrives ready to sell.
