Azuribérica was founded in February 2011 in Oliveira do Hospital, in the Coimbra district of central Portugal, at the foot of the Serra da Estrela. The founding decision was deliberate: while the textile sector in the region was contracting, we saw an opportunity to use the deep manufacturing knowledge and skilled workforce that Oliveira do Hospital had built over decades to create something with a higher standard of quality.
Today, 167 people work in our production facility. The core specialisation is structured outerwear and tailored garments for men and women: jackets, coats, overcoats, suits, trousers, shorts, and skirts. We also produce workwear and technical uniforms for corporate and institutional clients. Every stage of production runs in-house, from CAD pattern development and precision cutting through sewing, rigorous quality control, and logistics.
Technology is renewed continuously. CAD software handles pattern modelling and cutting optimisation, reducing material waste and ensuring precision from the first piece to the last. Our machinery is updated on an annual cycle to maintain efficiency and quality standards across all production lines.
We hold GRS (Global Recycled Standard), RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), and SMETA certifications. Our facility runs on 100% renewable electricity generated by photovoltaic panels covering the full roof. LED lighting and variable-consumption equipment reduce energy use across the production floor. Sustainability is built into the operation, not treated as a reporting exercise.
With a strong export orientation, we are equipped to deliver premium-quality garments and a reliable service to international brands. To start a project, submit your brief on NovaSupplier and we will respond with a production proposal and timeline.
