António & Carla was founded in 2000 in Paços de Ferreira by Carla Matos and António Cunha. What started as a small wovens operation has grown into a team of around 80 people and, for the fourth time in a row, the company holds a position at the top of Portugal's SME Excel rankings — a rating based on financial health, creditworthiness, and operational performance.
The specialisation is woven garments for men, women, and children: shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts, and trousers. Pattern work runs through Morgan's CAD systems, which handle pattern design and cutting plans for both manual and automatic cutting. Production runs on Juki sewing machines, and finishing is done on Naomoto professional ironing equipment. Cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging are all handled in-house.
The factory is certified under GOTS, OCS, and RCS. In practice, this means they can run certified organic and recycled fibre production lines and provide the chain-of-custody documentation that brands with sustainability requirements need. The sustainability programme also includes photovoltaic panels across the facility, LED lighting with consumption monitoring, and textile waste management through a certified processing partner.
The combination of Morgan's CAD capability, Juki precision, and certifications makes this factory a strong match for brands that need woven garment production with documented sustainability credentials. To start a project, submit your brief on NovaSupplier and we will respond with a quote.
